“Quality orthodontic care does more than give you a beautiful smile; it sets the stage for a lifetime of healthy teeth.“

Dr Yeo Woon Chee

Special Interest In Dentistry:

Orthodontics

Qualifications

B.D.S (Singapore)
M.D.S (Orthodontics) (Singapore)
MOrthRCS (Edinburgh)
FAMS (Singapore)
Dental Specialist in Orthodontics

Dr Yeo Woon Chee is a Dental Specialist in Orthodontics with extensive experience across public dental healthcare settings in Singapore. She began her career as a Dental Officer at National Healthcare Group Polyclinics and the National Dental Centre Singapore from 2013 to 2016, before joining the Department of Orthodontics at the National Dental Centre Singapore, where she served from 2016 to 2019.

She holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and a Master of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics (MDS) from Singapore, as well as the Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MOrthRCS Edinburgh) and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).

With a special interest in orthodontics, Dr Yeo believes that quality orthodontic care goes beyond achieving a beautiful smile. It also plays an important role in supporting long-term oral health. She encourages parents not to wait until all their child’s adult teeth have erupted before seeking an orthodontic assessment. Early evaluation can identify certain developing issues that may benefit from timely intervention, potentially preventing more complex problems later on.

Dr Yeo finds great fulfilment in guiding patients through their orthodontic journeys and witnessing their growing confidence. From a child’s handmade thank-you card to a patient celebrating the completion of treatment with a photograph, these heartfelt moments remind her of the meaningful impact dentistry can have on a person’s self-esteem and well-being. She is committed to continually improving her practice by keeping abreast of new technologies and learning from her colleagues and experts around the world.

Outside of work, Dr Yeo values spending time with her family and two energetic kids. Her interests include yoga, barre, and the ongoing mystery of whether her greens will thrive or simply provide compost!

“She finds fulfilment in getting to know her patients and being part of their journey towards better oral health.”

Qualifications

Bachelor of Dental Surgery from King’s College London

Dr Lisa Koh graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from King’s College London, where she was awarded runner-up in the Marice Wohl General Dentistry Practice Centre Prize.

She began developing her clinical experience within the UK’s National Health Service, gaining exposure to major dental hospitals in London, including Guy’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital. She also practised general dentistry at a private practice in southern England. Beyond her clinical work, Dr Koh has a strong commitment to giving back, having participated in dental volunteering initiatives both locally and overseas. One experience that was particularly meaningful to her was a dental mission trip to Phnom Penh with ACTS in December 2023. Working alongside the team, she provided dental care at a village centre and local school, where she and her colleagues treated vilagers and children who had been looking forward to the team’s annual visit. Beyond providing treatment, the team spent time educating children on the importance of oral health and proper dental care. They also connected with students and staff at a local university to explore ways of supporting the community in developing more sustainable approaches to oral healthcare.

Clinically, Dr Koh has a special interest in prosthodontics and aesthetic dentistry. She has attended various seminars and courses to continually expand her knowledge and refine her skills in these areas. She is also certified in Invisalign, Myobrace and Osstem Implants.

A key part of Dr Koh’s approach to dentistry is helping patients feel comfortable and at ease. She believes that dental care should be a collaborative process, working closely with each patient to understand their concerns and develop a personalised treatment plan that suits their needs.

For patients who feel anxious or fearful about dental visits, Dr Koh encourages them not to wait until they are experiencing pain before seeking care, as painful experiences can sometimes reinforce dental anxiety. Instead, she recommends taking things one step at a time. For those who are apprehensive about their first visit, she reassures them that there is no need to worry. The first appointment can simply be an opportunity to have a conversation, understand their concerns and gradually work towards treatment at a comfortable pace.

Outside the clinic, Dr Koh enjoys travelling, music, pottery and outdoor activities. She particularly enjoys unwinding with a relaxing swim, running through nature reserves or playing the guitar. She has also always been drawn to hands-on and creative pursuits. Curiosity is another part of her personality. Dr Koh enjoys trying new foods, exploring different sports and picking up new activities, especially when something she tries for the first time eventually becomes a lasting hobby! At home, she also enjoys spending time with her dog, Truffle.

Dentistry beings together many of the things Dr Koh values: working with her hands, connecting with people, continuing to learn and having the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
