Getting to know our Dentist

Why did you choose to be a dentist?
I had a good experience when I had braces treatment as a teenager, and it got me interested in the possibility of being a dentist. I am also good with my hands, and dentistry, despite undergoing rapid technological advances, remains a very hands-on and practical art.

What are the things that keep you motivated in dentistry?
1) Seeing patients become increasingly happy and confident with their smiles as they undergo braces treatment gives me joy and satisfaction.

2) Being able to constantly pick up new skills and refine old skills by attending orthodontic courses and conferences, at the same time meeting orthodontists from around the world and learning from them, keeps me motivated and challenged to keep improving.

“Seeing patients become increasingly happy and confident with their smiles as they undergo braces treatment gives me joy and satisfaction.”

What are your favourite dental treatments, and why?
Orthodontics is my favourite dental treatment. Braces treatment is a big part of this! But we also use aligners and other types of growth modification appliances to both align the teeth and the jaws, and improve jaw deformities that may be present at an early age.

Orthodontics excites me in my daily work because every individual is unique, and I enjoy the challenge of customizing for each person the most efficient and effective way of straightening their teeth or improving their jaw alignment.

Orthodontics also uniquely allows me to accompany children through their formative years as they grow, mature and blossom into young adults. Being able to play a small role in this process by increasing their confidence in their smiles is a blessing for me. It is always a pleasure seeing patients smile more readily after I straighten their crooked teeth.
