Getting to know our Dentist

If you could bust one myth about dental health, what would it be, and why does it matter?

That mouthwash can replace brushing, because it absolutely can’t! While mouthwash may freshen breath, it does not remove plaque the way proper brushing does. Relying on mouthwash alone can lead to preventable issues such as cavities and gum disease, which is why brushing remains the cornerstone of good oral hygiene.

How do you help patients who feel anxious about dental visits?

Interestingly, my wife happens to be a dental phobic patient. Treating someone you love and who is fearful taught me how to truly emphatise with anxious patients. I strive to create an environment where my patients feel safe, heard, and in control. I encourage them to express their fears during procedures. When patients know they can rely on me to provide quality care while respecting their comfort, it makes the entire experience less overwhelming.

What the most meaningful compliment you’ve ever received from a patient?

I recall treating a patient who came in with a painful abscess caused by root canal infection. During her review visit, she told me her quality of life had improved tremendously because the pain was gone. What touched me the most was when she said she wanted to refer her family members to me for their future dental care.

“The biggest compliment is when patients trust me enough to send their loved ones to me. That trust motivates me to keep doing my best everyday.”

What do you like to do outside of dentistry?

I enjoy going on long jogs, and staying active in the gym. When i’m not in workout mode, you’ll probably find me behind a drum set!
